What's wrong with me?
11.25.03 (10:16 am) [edit]
In the past few days, people around here have been really cranky. I guess they've just been keeping everything inside, because they get to go home soon for Thanksgiving. At least, I hope that's it. Everyone seems distant and angry. Especially my co-workers here, but I guess that's because we have a tough job.
I tried to explain a dream I had to a friend (she was in it), and we had trouble communicating.
I hope everything works out...it's lonely here!

I've got a fan named 'Newbie'
11.23.03 (7:12 pm) [edit]
On Wednesday, I posted a picture of me in a cat-in-the-hat style Canadian hat. Go to this http://www.tblog.com/template... to view that post. Then, click on the comments section.
It seems that I've made someone upset about themselves. They are ashamed to be an American because of something that I did. This makes me laugh. Oh...I just remembered, this person called me a fag too. That makes me laugh as well. Hopefully, my friend Kelli can straighten that misunderstanding out.
I encourage anyone who reads this to leave a comment, and to personally respond to 'newbie' as well.

Such a sap...
11.21.03 (11:14 pm) [edit]
Tonight I went to watch IU basketball against UNC-Greensboro, and of course, we won.
I just finished watching What a girl wants, and it got me thinking. A lot of times, people have so much blocking the big picture that indiscretion gets the best of them. I am probably the most careful person I know, if I do say so myself. I try not to hurt those around me, but like everything in this world, there are contradictions. While I don't hurt people, I never get close enough to them to do so, which is a problem, because I am totally worthless if I don't. I suppose I just want to be certain that I am right, and that it is the one. But I guess I'll never know unless I take a chance. So cliche.
Raise your hand if you have any clue what I just said.

Status update
11.20.03 (10:52 pm) [edit]
Well...it's been a long day, and the sunflowers are about four inches tall now. One problem here at night is that they gravitate towards any light source, and with 150 feet of Christmas lights on my ceiling, they are facing three different directions. They'll be ok though, I'm sure.
Does anyone know what the best time of the week to do laundry is? Tuesday morning. No one does their laundry on a Tuesday. Unfortunately, I've missed the last two, so now I'm doing two and a half weeks of laundry at once. And let me tell you...it doesn't smell good.
Also, I'm writing a letter to my cousin, Jill. She was going to come visit me, because she has an extra long Thanksgiving break, but her parents didn't want her driving this far, so she wrote me a letter instead. I was kinda surprised. She's really bored though, or so she says, so I'm writing her back. And here's something I just thought of...do you know how hard it is to write a sentence without using the word I? It's really tough, and it makes me think about it every time. No one wants to come off sounding like a snob. I did this and I did that...
...anyway...8 minutes until my laundry is done, so I think I have time for a couple Red Hot Chili Peppers songs.

My sunflowers
11.20.03 (10:38 am) [edit]
|
Last Saturday, I planted some sunflowers in a pot. I know it sounds kinda corny, but I'm gonna have mammoth sunflowers in my room when it starts snowing outside! They came up last night, and now they are two inches tall! I'm really excited about that. I feel really lazy again today, because I was supposed to get up this morning to do laundry, but I didn't wake up until 11, and I have a class at 1, so that isn't enough time. I'll do it when I get home, I guess. It's going to be a busy weekend again. I keep losing them for some reason. It's really weird. Oh well!

Thinking about Canada
11.19.03 (4:45 pm) [edit]
[image]Stephan_1111170266 .jpg[/image]
This is a pic of me towards the end of my trip to Canada over the summer. I have just come home from having a bit to drink with my supervisor, Steven Barrett. We always went to a place called The Fox and Feather, because the waitresses were so hot. They wore tight pink shirts and short black skirts :D Anyway...I think I have about three beers in me in this pic, and I'm standing on my roommate's chair.
The reason for the goofy hat is that the political party my roommate was working for, the New Democratic (Communist) Party, was having a hat party. My roommate invited me, but then the party told him that no non-Communists were invited. Oh well! I miss Canada, and my roommate Matt. Haven't seen you in a while buddy!

Taking a nap
11.19.03 (4:19 pm) [edit]
I've become really lazy lately. My 'to-do' list keeps getting longer, and I haven't really been crossing anything out. Today, I sold a book on Half.com, so I packaged it and took it to the post office. On the way there, I saw my friend Amanda, and tripped off the edge of the sidewalk as I was running to catch up (she was going to the post office too).
Anyway...quit trying to get me off the subject! The only other thing that I really did today was to fill out a 104R form for the Army, which basically is a map of the classes that I will be taking for the next two and a half years. I panicked for a while, because the credits weren't adding up properly, and I couldn't figure out why the total came to only 95 credits, when I had 21 credits in each semester of my junior and senior years. Then I realized the formula was wrong, and started deleting classes :) I'm gonna go to McDonald's in a little while (if I feel like it), and then I'll have a small staff meeting. Who knows what we'll be doing? I sure don't.
Oh yeah...I just remembered why I titled this "taking a nap." I was trying to take a nap this afternoon, the lazy guy I am, but I heard screaming in the hallway. I didn't end up going to see what was going on, but I got up anyway. So I've been sitting here staring at the computer for the last 3 hours (it feels like 4 at least).
Tomorrow is Thursday, so I don't have to get up until noon

stupid commercials
11.18.03 (7:36 pm) [edit]
As I was watching my Tuesday night TV, I saw two commercials that made me want to puke. The first one was for Kay Jewelers. A man and a woman are walking together:
Man: Do you believe in Santa Claus? Woman (slyly): You know I do. Man (opening a box with a ring in it): He helped me pick this out.
Ick. I get that acidic taste in my mouth just thinking about it.
I'm so disgusted that I can't even remember the other commercial.

My friend Kelli convinced me to start a blog, so I am. It will be good, so that the world may learn of my ideas. Or maybe not...
